Today Columbus IT Partner has acquired the US software developer VerticalSoft based in Massachusetts. VerticalSoft is a leading Navision software developer in the USA focusing on vertical solutions for the chemical and food industries. The acquisition of VerticalSoft is a part of Columbus' strategy to develop global industry solutions for certain industries.

At the start of 2005, the new board of directors of Columbus laid down an ambitious strategy for making Columbus the world's leading consultancy and development house for vertical solutions on the Microsoft Business Solutions platform. Thus, the transaction today is a part of Columbus' strategy to strengthen the group's software development enterprise and to develop a global ISV (Independent Software Vendor) that functions together with the enterprise's existing consultancy business.

With the acquisition, Columbus obtains all the rights to VerticalSoft's software solutions, partner channels, customer base, and a professional team with expertise in building a software development house. It also allows Columbus to offer customers and partners a wide range of global, industry specific, horizontal and vertical supplementary solutions, certified by Microsoft.
