Recipes/Formulas
The heart of VerticalSoft Food Manufacturing software is the recipe or formula process definition. The design of a recipe or formula is not geared toward producing one item, but rather is formularized by batch size for an anticipated output (typically based on the size of the vessel, vat, tank, etc.). The formula can be adjusted upward or downward and the raw materials will adjust accordingly. Batch sizes can be dynamically changed on the fly for production planning and the quantities for formula ingredients are instantly scaled proportionately. The formula, as well as the raw materials listed in the formula, may be specified in any unit of measure, based on either weight or volume. Expected yields may be specified for each ingredient in the formula in addition to the expected yield of the formula itself, providing for accurate production planning and inventory control.
